Specify ring when the open centre is a design requirement — not a compromise.

  • Retail window frames — single-sided wall-mounted ring framing merchandise visible through the centre opening.

Do Not Choose Ring If…

You need to display a full circular photograph, logo on a solid background, or detailed round content filling the entire circle. That is a circular disc — the ring band canvas is too narrow for full-image round content unless the content is specifically designed for a band strip (gradient sweeps, text around circumference, logo animation on the band).

When to Choose a Circular (Disc) LED Display

Specify circular when you need a complete round image surface.

  • Corporate reception logos — full-round brand mark on a solid disc behind reception desk.
  • Retail circular signage — product image or promotion filling the entire round screen.
  • Control room / broadcast — round content area matching circular UI design.
  • Wall-mounted round displays where the centre must show pixels, not open space.

Ring vs Circular at the same outer diameter: A 2m circular disc has roughly 4× the pixel area of a 2m ring with 0.5m band width — and proportionally higher weight, power draw, and cost. If your content works on a band strip, ring is the more efficient engineering choice.

When to Choose a Cylinder (Column) LED Display

Specify cylinder when the installation surface is vertical and viewers walk around it.

  • Architectural column wraps — hotel lobbies, shopping centres, transit hubs.
  • Outdoor plaza pillars — 360° content visible from all approach angles.
  • Exhibition totems — freestanding cylindrical displays in trade show aisles.
  • Wayfinding columns — directional content wrapping a structural pillar.

A cylinder is not a ring turned on its side. The structural frame wraps vertically; content maps to a rectangular cylinder canvas (circumference × height).
