WHY HE LEFT
THE MEGA-FACTORY PATH.
“I watched AV integrators get burned year after year — by factories too big to care about their custom CAD, too bureaucratic to give a straight technical answer, too slow to matter when a project deadline was at stake.”
Kris Liang started in LED manufacturing in 2007. The industry was small — engineers knew each other across factories. Custom projects happened over phone calls. A 15-day delivery was standard, not exceptional.
He worked on the 2008 Beijing Olympics floor screen — 3,000 square metres of P20.83 ground-level LED. By 2010 he was managing the company’s first major European project: a USD 2M+ display for an Italian broadcaster. By 2013 he was Regional Director across Asia, Africa, and Oceania, and running product development simultaneously.

Israel Pavilion
By 2016, the biggest factories had grown into 5,000+ person operations. Engineering decisions moved from engineers to committees. A custom pillar installation that took 2 days to quote in 2010 now required a 6-week approval chain.
Kris watched a US integrator — someone he had worked alongside for years — get refused by three tier-1 suppliers for a straightforward custom retail pillar project. Not because it was technically difficult. Because it did not fit their standard SKU planning. The integrator nearly lost the contract.
That conversation was the start of everything that followed.
In 2017, Kris acquired a Shenzhen LED manufacturer that had been operating since 2013, rebranded it as DOIT VISION, and rebuilt it around a single purpose: to be the engineering partner that international AV integrators could not find anywhere else.

PIXEL-LEVEL DETAIL.
19 YEARS.
Entered LED Engineering
Joined a leading Shenzhen LED manufacturer as PCB layout engineer. First role: outdoor LED billboard panel design. P10 was state-of-the-art.
Beijing Olympics — 3,000㎡ Floor Screen
Participated in one of the largest single LED floor-screen installations in history — a 3,000㎡ P20.83 ground-level display for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Structural load, thermal management, real-time broadcast synchronisation — set the engineering bar for everything that followed.
First Major Overseas Project — Italian Broadcaster, USD 2M+
Delivered the first large-scale international LED display project — a flagship screen for an Italian television broadcaster, single-project value exceeding USD 2 million. Ultra-thin Chinese LED hit the European rental market for the first time, fundamentally disrupting cost structure and weight specifications.
Regional Director (Asia · Africa · Oceania) + Head of Product Development
Appointed to lead the company’s Asia, Africa, and Oceania regional business across three continents simultaneously. Concurrently named Head of Product Development. Watched firsthand as factories scaled past 3,000 employees and committees began replacing engineers in every decision chain.
Milan World Expo — Israel National Pavilion
Delivered the LED display system for the Israel National Pavilion at the 2015 Milan World Expo. A world-stage installation demanding precision fabrication, international logistics, and flawless on-site commissioning.
First Exposure to COB Revolution
First hands-on work with Chip-on-Board LED packaging. Recognised that COB’s encapsulated surface, 10,000:1 contrast, and 40% energy savings would fundamentally change fine-pitch and mission-critical applications.
Acquired & Rebranded as DOIT VISION — International Pivot
Acquired a Shenzhen LED manufacturer operating since 2013 and rebranded it as DOIT VISION. Repositioned from domestic-facing supplier to boutique engineering partner serving international AV integrators exclusively. Supply chain retained. Culture rebuilt — direct engineer access, no approval queues, same-day CAD response.
Matrix Rental Series Launch — 20,000+ Cabinets, 20 Countries
Led development of the Matrix rental product series engineered for the live events market. Over 20,000 cabinets shipped in 2019–2020 alone across 20 countries. Lightweight construction, fast-lock mechanisms, integrator-friendly serviceability.
First Custom Architectural Project — LED Sphere
Delivered first 360° sphere LED installation for a brand experience centre. Validated the boutique custom thesis: integrators needed a partner who said yes to custom shapes and actually delivered them with structural calculations and CAD drawings.
COB 0.9mm Breaks Into North America — 300㎡ in Year One
Successfully introduced the 0.9mm COB product line to the North American market. Over 300㎡ of COB sold in the first year, establishing DOIT VISION as a credible COB supplier for North American AV integrators.
COB Pro Series Launch
Released the COB Pro line — DCI-P3 colour space, 5H surface hardness, 40% energy savings, 4K camera-ready. Now installed in control rooms, broadcast studios, and premium corporate spaces across 55+ countries.
Strategic Pivot: Deep Customisation Partner for AV Integrators
Sharpened the company’s focus to serve AV integrators exclusively — and extended the service model far beyond display supply. DOIT VISION now operates as a complete product development partner: from concept and industrial design through electronics, structure, tooling, mass production, and global shipping — one team, one point of contact, zero handoffs.
Still 15 Engineers. Still Answering WhatsApp.
Still saying “send us the CAD.” Still building spheres, halos, control room COB walls, and broadcast-grade MIP panels. Still the engineering team integrators recommend to other integrators.
HOW KRIS THINKS
ABOUT LED
ENGINEERING.
Specs should match use cases — not marketing.
The “best” pixel pitch is not the smallest one. It’s the one that matches viewing distance, content type, and budget. We’ve talked clients out of P0.9 when P1.5 was the right answer. That loses us margin on that order. It earns us a partner for the next twenty.
Custom projects are engineering — not magic.
A 360° LED sphere isn’t “panels bent into a ball.” It’s custom PCB design, structural calculation, thermal engineering, and pixel geometry optimisation. Mega-factories say “we don’t do that” because they treat custom as a deviation. DOIT VISION treats it as the work.
Speed comes from structure — not heroics.
DOIT VISION responds same-day not because engineers are working overtime, but because the company was built without bureaucratic layers. No “let me check with management.” No 6-step approval to send a CAD file. When you message at 10am, an engineer answers by noon.
Integrators are partners — not channels.
The mega-factory model treats integrators as markup resellers. DOIT VISION treats integrators as the actual project leaders. White-label, integrator-tier pricing, bid support, CAD libraries, dealer programmes — these aren’t add-ons. They’re how the company is structured.
WHAT NEARLY TWO
DECADES TAUGHT ME.
China’s supply chain is unbeatable. But it can also be a ceiling.
China built the world’s production base for LED: supply chain depth, manufacturing efficiency, and cost advantage no other country has replicated. That’s made high-quality LED accessible to markets that never could have afforded it before.
But the same forces that created this strength constrain the industry. Chinese manufacturers are structurally incentivised to optimise for cost and efficiency — which is why creative innovation, material experimentation, and structural re-imagination tend to lag. Not because the engineers can’t do it. Because the business model doesn’t reward it.
Kris’s vision: global creativity meeting Chinese supply chain execution. The best installations don’t start with a factory catalogue. They start with an idea.
The real gap isn’t technical. It’s translation.
International clients have excellent instincts and genuinely creative ideas. But they rarely know the manufacturing process steps, tooling constraints, and supply chain dependencies. Great ideas arrive with assumptions baked in about what’s feasible and how long it takes.
On the other side, manufacturers know the supply chain in extraordinary detail — and almost nothing about how their products are actually used in the field. Both sides are working hard and getting in each other’s way.
Kris has spent nearly 20 years accumulating genuine depth on both sides. That dual fluency is what DOIT VISION is built on.
Why the company is called DOIT VISION — and what it means.
Good ideas are everywhere. Plans get made. Presentations get built. And most of it never moves.
“DOIT isn’t a slogan. It’s the whole philosophy. The name exists because I believe execution is rarer than vision — and it’s execution that creates value.”
That philosophy shapes everything at DOIT VISION: same-day response culture, willingness to take on custom projects no one has made before, refusal to hide behind “we’ll get back to you.” When a client asks “is this possible?” — the answer comes the same day, with engineering behind it.
WHY WE STAY
AT 15 ENGINEERS.
& WHERE WE’RE TAKING
THIS.
The goal of DOIT VISION is not to be the largest LED manufacturer in China. There are already hundreds of those. They are already too large to serve AV integrators properly.
The goal is to be the engineering team integrators recommend to other integrators — the partner trusted with the projects mega-factories cannot or will not take on.
Past 50 engineers, bureaucracy starts. Past 200, a company becomes the factory that ignores a client’s custom CAD request. Kris has set this as a non-negotiable principle: the team stays lean enough to stay fast.

Kris Liang is the co-founder and lead engineer of DOIT VISION. He has 19+ years of LED display engineering experience, including roles as Regional Director (Asia, Africa & Oceania) and Head of Product Development at top-tier Shenzhen LED manufacturers. Key milestones include the 2008 Beijing Olympics 3,000㎡ floor screen (P20.83), a USD 2M+ Italian broadcaster display project (2010), the Israel Pavilion at the 2015 Milan World Expo, and the Matrix rental series (20,000+ cabinets, 20 countries). In 2017, he acquired a Shenzhen LED manufacturer founded in 2013, rebranded it as DOIT VISION, and pivoted it exclusively to international AV integrators.
COB (Chip-on-Board) LED P0.6–P1.8mm, MIP (Micro LED in Package) with HDR10 and 21-bit greyscale, custom architectural LED (spheres, halos, curved walls, multi-sided pillars), holographic and transparent LED, broadcast/mission-critical display systems. Hands-on experience with Brompton Tessera, Novastar MCTRL, and Colorlight Z-series. Custom PCB design, structural engineering, thermal management. Developer of 10+ LED product lines.
Kris watched mega-factories grow so large they became unable to serve AV integrators properly. Engineering decisions moved to committees. Custom requests died in approval queues. A conversation with a US integrator refused by three tier-1 suppliers for a straightforward retail pillar project was the catalyst. He built DOIT VISION to be the partner integrators wished existed — boutique, technically deep, and structurally fast.
Kris chose the name because good ideas are abundant in this industry — but execution is rare. “DOIT” isn’t a slogan; it’s the core philosophy: action creates more value than intention. The name reflects how the company operates — same-day responses, custom projects taken on without lengthy approval chains, and a culture where “is this possible?” gets an engineering answer the same afternoon.
Kris personally ensures all integrator relationships are handled with direct engineer-to-engineer communication. DOIT VISION provides WhatsApp direct access to engineers during business hours (9AM–9PM China Time), same-day technical response, free pre-sales CAD drawings and 3D mockups for bid support, integrator-tier pricing, and white-label/OEM support for qualified partners.
The 15-person engineering core is intentional. “Past 50 engineers, bureaucracy starts. Past 200, you become the factory that ignores your client’s custom CAD.” The goal is not to be the largest LED manufacturer in China — but to be the engineering team integrators recommend to other integrators. Speed comes from structure: no management approvals to send a CAD file, no ticketing queue between you and the engineer who solves your problem. The full 60-person operation supports logistics, QC, and operations — the engineering core stays lean.
DOIT VISION traces its roots to a Shenzhen LED manufacturer established in 2013. In 2017, Kris Liang acquired the company, rebranded it as DOIT VISION, and fundamentally repositioned it — shifting its focus entirely to international AV integrators and rebuilding the engineering culture around direct, engineer-to-engineer communication. Kris serves as co-founder and lead engineer, personally overseeing technical relationships with integrators worldwide.
