Engineering a 33sqm
Immersive P0.9 COB Showroom in New Jersey

A major enterprise client needed their New Jersey corporate showroom overhauled — replacing standard LCD panels with a 33-square-meter L-shaped immersive digital canvas. The challenge: visitors walk within 1 meter of the screen, demanding retina-level P0.9 COB technology, a custom CNC framework with multi-axis micro-adjustment, and a NovaStar H9 video wall splicer driving over 40 million pixels through 100 Ethernet ports. The defining engineering feat was the 90-degree internal corner — where pixel offset mapping digitally compensated for two physically obscured pixel columns to achieve total geometric perfection.

01 — The Brief

Ripping Out the LCDs

Corporate showrooms are undergoing a massive transformation. The era of static LCD panels and tiled 2×2 video walls is over — brands want environments that envelop their visitors.

A major enterprise client in New Jersey reached out to DOIT VISION to completely overhaul their corporate showroom. The original setup — standard LCD panels — was to be replaced with a 33-square-meter (355 sq. ft) immersive digital canvas stretching across two intersecting walls.

The goal was a flawless L-shaped immersive experience where video content flows seamlessly from Wall A to Wall B. But building a seamless 90-degree corner at massive scale is difficult. Doing it when visitors stand inches from the screen — that's an engineering masterpiece.

The 90° Pixel Offset & NovaStar H9 Architecture

This is where the project went from hard to extreme. Joining two P0.9 walls at a perfect 90-degree internal corner — the margin of error is microscopic.

The Physics of the Corner: Even with precision CNC 45° beveled edges, the physical board substrate at the 90° apex obscures a tiny amount of visual real estate. In this P0.9mm setup, the seam covered exactly two columns of pixels. If left unaddressed, any line moving across the corner would jump or stretch.

The Processing Beast: NovaStar H9

33 sqm at P0.9mm generates well over standard 8K resolution. Standard LED senders can't handle this. We deployed the NovaStar H9 Video Wall Splicer.

/* H9 SYSTEM CONFIGURATION */
[1] Mainframe: NovaStar H9
[2] Output: 20 × Ethernet output cards (5 pcs)
[3] Input: DP 1.2 input cards (7 pcs)
[4] Graphics: ET4000 (3 pcs)
[5] Graphics: HPG4000 (3 pcs)
[6] Sync: Synchronous cards (3 pcs)

Using the H9's advanced canvas software, we mapped a Pixel Offset at the exact corner coordinate — digitally dropping the 2 obscured pixel columns. The result? A car driving across the corner appears hyper-realistic with zero stretching.

03 — Technical Deep Dive

The Bandwidth Math of P0.9

A single square meter of P0.9mm LED contains roughly 1.23 million pixels. Multiply by 33, and you get over 40 million pixels — a standard 4K signal only carries 8.2 million. That means this wall needed the bandwidth equivalent of nearly five 4K streams running simultaneously in perfect sync at 60Hz.

Why 100 Ethernet Cables?

A standard gigabit Ethernet port from a sending card maxes out at 650,000 pixels. To drive 40 million pixels, you mathematically need over 60 cables. That's why the H9 was loaded with five 20-port Ethernet output cards — 100 ports total — guaranteeing unbottlenecked data flow.

The 7 DP1.2 input cards allowed the client's media servers to pump uncompressed ultra-HD into the processor. The 3 ET4000 and 3 synchronous cards ensured zero screen tearing across the massive canvas, regardless of how video was sliced across those 100 cables.

Buyer's Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum viewing distance for P0.9 COB LED?
P0.9mm COB LED supports comfortable viewing from as close as 0.9 meters (3 feet). At this distance, the human eye cannot distinguish individual pixels due to retina-level pixel density. This makes it the only viable LED technology for showrooms, corporate lobbies, and high-end retail where visitors walk directly up to the screen. Standard P1.8mm or P2.5mm displays would show visible pixel gaps at this range.
Why use COB instead of SMD for fine-pitch indoor displays?
COB (Chip-on-Board) encapsulates LEDs in epoxy resin, creating a smooth, sealed surface with three key advantages over SMD: (1) higher contrast ratio — up to 10,000:1 versus 5,000:1 for SMD — due to better ambient light absorption; (2) protection against physical impact at 5H hardness, critical where visitors can touch the screen; (3) virtually zero pixel failure after aging tests because encapsulation eliminates wire-bonding weak points.
How does the 90-degree seamless corner work on a COB LED wall?
A 90-degree internal corner on a sub-1mm LED wall requires two steps: (1) the physical cabinets are CNC-machined with 45-degree beveled edges so they meet at exactly 90 degrees; (2) the physical board thickness obscures approximately 2 pixel columns at the apex, so the video processor (in this case, NovaStar H9) uses pixel offset mapping to digitally drop those columns — motion across the corner appears continuous without stretching.
What processor do I need for a large P0.9 LED wall?
A 33sqm P0.9 LED wall generates over 40 million pixels — roughly 5 times the pixel count of a 4K signal. Standard LED sending cards cannot handle this. This project used a NovaStar H9 video wall splicer with 100 Ethernet output ports and 7 DP1.2 input cards. The processing configuration typically represents 15–20% of the total project budget for installations of this scale.
How fast can DOIT VISION deliver a custom COB showroom?
For this 33sqm project, DOIT VISION completed full production, 72-hour factory aging, and air-freight to New Jersey within one month. Typical lead times are 3–6 weeks depending on size and complexity. We pre-assemble wall sections and the processor rack before shipping, which cuts on-site installation time by approximately 40%.
Do you provide remote support for overseas installations?
Yes. For this New Jersey project, our Shenzhen engineers provided 24/7 remote support during installation — logging in remotely to configure H9 screen mapping, pixel offset parameters, and color calibration in real time. We support installations across 55+ countries with English-speaking engineers available during your local business hours. On-site commissioning is available for projects above 50 sqm.
What certifications do DOIT VISION COB displays carry?
DOIT VISION holds CE, EMC, RoHS certifications company-wide.UL/ETL is often a hard requirement for commercial AV installations in the US. For additional local certifications, we coordinate with accredited third-party labs.
Can you handle uneven walls for sub-1mm LED mounting?
Yes. Instead of mounting directly onto drywall, we engineered a floating CNC framework with multi-axis micro-adjustment knobs. The framework sits just off the existing wall, and installers fine-tune each connection point for Z-axis alignment. Sub-1mm P0.9 COB modules attach magnetically to the now-perfectly-flat plane, eliminating any seam or shadow caused by wall irregularities.
