Definition

An LED rental display is a modular video wall cabinet system engineered for repeated assembly and disassembly — distinguished from fixed-install panels by quick-lock connectors, flight-case-compatible construction, front-access module service, and IP-rated outdoor options. Standard applications include live concerts, touring productions, corporate events, trade shows, and outdoor festivals.

Why Rental Is Different

FIVE PROBLEMS
GENERIC SUPPLIERS
DON’T SOLVE.

01

Cabinet Flatness & Quick-Lock After Repeated Teardowns

A rental panel that ships fine but shows visible gaps after 20 teardowns is a liability. Quick-lock precision and structural rigidity under repeated stress are engineering choices — not a given. Matrix 500 and X-1000 are designed to maintain sub-0.1mm flatness tolerance through high-frequency deployment cycles.

02

Brightness for Every Venue: Indoor Stage to Outdoor Festival

The same inventory that runs at indoor 800 nits needs to compete with direct sunlight outdoors at 6,500 nits. A rental company buying separate indoor and outdoor stock doubles capital outlay. Our range from P1.5 indoor to P3.9/P4.8 outdoor IP65 lets one SKU system cover every venue type.

03

Accessory Ecosystem: Modules, Beams, Flight Cases, Connectors

A broken cabinet lock or corroded power connector at load-in is a show-stopping failure. We supply a complete accessory ecosystem — hanging beams, flight cases, power/signal connectors — matched to each cabinet, available as individual reorder items without minimum quantities. Single-item accessory reorder carries the same lead time as spare modules — typically 10–15 days from confirmation.

04

Signal Processing: Novastar A8s, A10 Pro, Colorlight Z-Series

Touring productions require seamless input switching, backup signal routing, and per-pixel calibration — requirements that eliminate budget controllers. Matrix 500 runs Novastar A8s/A10 Pro or Colorlight Z-series as standard, and is also available in a Brompton Tessera version (SX40/S8/S4) quoted separately against your receiving-card configuration. X-1000, Lite, and Flex are pre-configured for Novastar or Colorlight. Cabinet map files and config USBs shipped with every order.

05

Spare Parts Still Available After Five Years

A rental inventory runs for 6–8 years. If the module SKU disappears in year three, a single dead panel means a mismatched wall or a write-off. We lock module specifications across production runs — the module you buy today remains reorderable. Rental companies in Germany and Australia have been reordering the same Matrix 500 modules for five years.

Two Cabinet Systems.
Every Deployment Covered.

Matrix 500 uses a 250×250mm module system in a lightweight cabinet — optimised for crews doing frequent city-to-city moves without tools. Quick-lock front-service means one person can swap a module in under three minutes without dismounting the structure.

X-1000 uses a large-format cabinet — fewer cabinet joins for a given screen size, faster assembly for production crews with equipment. Purpose-built for arena-scale installs where speed of build is the priority over portability.

Both systems support hanging and ground-stacking configurations. Curved convex and concave assembly available. Flight cases custom-matched to each cabinet size.

Response

“Every week a rental company asks whether they should buy one product range for indoor and a different one for outdoor. The honest answer is: with the right cabinet engineering you should not have to. The Matrix 500 was designed so the same structural platform runs indoor at 800 nits and outdoor at 6,500 nits — same modules, same flight cases, same reorder process. A rental inventory that works for every venue without doubling your capital outlay — that is the engineering problem we solved first.“

FAQ

QUESTIONS BEFORE
SPECIFYING.

An LED rental display is a modular LED video wall panel system engineered specifically for repeated assembly, transport, and disassembly — in contrast to fixed-install panels that are designed for permanent mounting. Key engineering differences include quick-lock cabinet connectors (tool-free assembly), reinforced flight-case-compatible corners, front-access module service (no need to dismantle the structure to replace a module), and structural tolerances designed for repeated thermal cycling and mechanical stress. Rental panels are available in both indoor and outdoor IP-rated versions.
The practical rule: minimum viewing distance (metres) ÷ 1.5 gives a reasonable maximum pixel pitch in millimetres for stage applications. For indoor stages with audiences from 5m, P3.0–P3.9 is standard. For close-up immersive content screens or IMAG (image magnification) panels at 3–5m, P2.6 gives better clarity. For outdoor main stages where the audience starts from 10m+, P3.9–P4.8 is sufficient and significantly reduces cost per sqm. Send us your stage dimensions and audience layout — an engineer will confirm the right pitch within the same business day.
Yes — but only the right models. IP rating determines outdoor suitability: IP65 means fully protected against dust and direct water jets, which is the correct minimum specification for outdoor events. Matrix 500 P3.9 and X-1000 P3.9/P4.8 are available in IP65 versions at up to 6,500 nits — sufficient for direct-sun daytime shows. The Flex Series and standard Lite Series are IP40 indoor-only. If you need a single product that moves between indoor and outdoor venues, specify the IP65 outdoor version and run it at reduced brightness indoors.
Large cabinets (X-1000 series) mean fewer cabinet joints across the screen surface, which reduces the number of connection points to close and speeds up assembly for production crews with equipment and tools. They are well suited for arena-scale builds and events with consistent, well-equipped production crews. Small/standard cabinets (Matrix 500) are lighter, easier to handle without tools, and better suited to companies doing frequent city-to-city moves or working with smaller crew sizes. If your typical job is a one-off festival main stage, X-1000 may be faster. If you’re running 40 shows a year in different venues, Matrix 500 is likely the better operational choice.
Brompton Tessera (SX40, S8, S4) is a separate Matrix 500 version, quoted against the receiving-card configuration — not the same bill of materials, price, or lead time as the Novastar / Colorlight build. It is what production designers specify on major concert tours: HDR, per-pixel calibration, frame remapping, and seamless input failover. Novastar A8s and A10 Pro are the standard on Matrix 500, and the configuration shipped on X-1000, Lite, and Flex: backup inputs, EDID management, and per-cabinet calibration. Tell us the series and the production scale, and we will quote the matching version.
We lock module specifications across production runs — the module supplied with your order today will remain reorderable at the same part number. Rental companies in Europe and Australia have been reordering Matrix 500 and X-1000 modules years after initial purchase with no part substitutions. As a general guide, we recommend holding a spare module inventory of approximately 2–3% of screen area — roughly 2–3 modules per 100㎡ — to cover operational failures between reorder cycles. Spare module, connectors, and power supply pricing is available at the same time as the main product quote.
Yes. Renamed spec sheets, white-label datasheets, OEM-branded packaging, and OEM serial numbers are available for qualified rental and integrator partners. Your client does not need to know our name is on the panel. White-label documentation is included at no additional cost for orders meeting minimum quantity thresholds.
