LED Display knowledge
What is LED
LED display is a flat panel display that uses an array of light emitting diodes (LED) as the light source. The LED controller and control system, control the light up and brightness of each LED pixel to create the color & brightness differences to form images and videos on the LED display
What is pixel pitch
When we choose the LED display, we have to consider about the resolution of the LED display, pixel pitch is the measure of the resolution of the LED display, and what is pixel pitch stand for?
Pixel pitch describes the density of the pixels (LED clusters) on an LED display and correlates with resolution. Sometimes referred to as pitch or dot pitch, the pixel pitch is the distance in millimeters from the center of a pixel to the center of the adjacent pixel. Since pixel pitch indicates the amount of space between two pixels, a smaller pixel pitch means there is less empty space between pixels. This equates to higher pixel density and improved screen resolution.
What is brightness for LED display
Brightness level for LED is important to consider if the LED display can be visible clearly under different environment. Such as it can be viewed and used under sunshine, outdoor etc.
Basic guidance for brightness level for different application
Indoor Brightness: 800 – 1,500 nits
Outdoor Brightness : 2,000 – 3,000 nits
Outdoor Brightness Under direct sunlight: 4500-6000 nits
Outdoor brightness in desert climate under direct sunlight: 7000 -1200 nits
What is SMD for LED display
SMD LED is abbreviation for (Surface-Mount-Device, Light-Emitting-Diode) it’s a type of LED characterized by having a 3 in 1 encapsulation, meaning that it integrates all 3 colors (Red, Green, Blue LED chip) into a single system.
The assembly on the circuit board is done by a polarization process on the front of the LED module. It is important that this process is carried out with high-quality equipment in order to avoid future problems such as loose or non-functioning LEDs
